  1. Call to Order and Welcome - Katherine

      1. Mum fundraiser profit -$114

  3. Principal’s Report - Mrs. Robinette

    1. Helpsy container for textile recycling. Space available in nw corner of the lot. Earns $150/month towards PTO.

    2. Cyber safety presentation for parents led by Robin Batten is being planned

  4. Update on Unfinished Business - Katherine

    1. Where funds are going

      1. STEM money to teacher wish lists- Katie

        1. $1735.06 has been spent so far. We are still waiting on wishlists from quite a few staff.

      2. Teacher snacks in lounge - Katherine

        1. Discussed snack budget and what to do if we keep running out faster than intended

      3. PTO amazon smile account - Becky

        1. Will set up once our 501c3 status is approved

    2. October activities

      1. Bullying Prevention Month- Katherine

        1. Students have been earning Brick Bucks for kind actions

      2. 10/20 5:30-7 Trunk of Treat - Katherine

        1. Created sign up genius and sent to all volunteers for trunk or treat

          1. Candy donations

          2. Costume drive

        2. Haunted bus- Jamie

        3. Prize giveaway -we have a donated gift card available as a prize, will choose 3 judges who will decide on best decorated trunk

      3. 10/26 MSU vs UofM teacher tailgate lunch/snack - Katie

        1. Decided hot dogs are logistically difficult and are pivoting to popcorn cart. Green and blue dot stickers have been ordered so students can support either MSU or UofM.

      4. 10/27 Half day teacher conferences, lunch for teachers - Jamie

        1. Discussed prices from Goodlyfe and the discount they offered us. Jamie and Katie to come up with order sheet for teachers. Emily offered to do a chip and drink pickup to go along with the wraps.

    3. Parent Participation Forms

      1. Proposed positions and committees -We would really love any help that is available. If you think you are suited for a position please let us know!

    4. Sticker design contest - Katie

      1. Talked about if project would be doable in classrooms, teachers in meeting said yes but also suggested during art special. I reached out to Ms Hissong about project.

    5. Feature parents in STEM jobs in parent room and on fb group - Becky

      1. Vanhevel will let us know what she needs from us for this project

    6. Auction - Becky

      1. March 17-18. We would love everyone to start reaching out to businesses for donations. We have a form available let us know if you need it.

  5. New Business

    1. PTO expo information - Katherine / Becky

      1. Learned about many different resources and fundraisers available to us. Hope to include passive donation sources on the website once its available.

    2. November Activities - Katherine

      1. Scholastic book fair 10/31-11/4-Katie

        2. Scholastic ewallet to be created for donations so that every student gets to choose a book.

      2. 8th STEM/STEAM day - what can we do to promote it? We had many parents volunteer for STEM career day - can we pull them in?

        1. Vanhevel to think about something that could work however Mrs Cox warned that it is the same day as student council presentations.

      3. 13th World Kindness day

        1. In previous years the kindness chain was displayed near the Lincoln statue. Katherine suggested using a drone to capture a whole school picture.

      4. Thanksgiving break

      5. Start thinking about holiday shop

        1. A sign up genius needs to be created for volunteers to run the shop. Katie suggested planning for it to be at the beginning of December so that it is before all the December holidays.

      6. Fifth grade fundraiser, pizza kits - Dawn

        1. Link will be sent out soon for ordering kits. Fundraiser to run November 1-16 with kits being dropped off the week of December 5. Funds raised will go towards buying fifth grade campers personalized shirts and cinch sacks for camp. Also hope to have enough for lunch the first day so students don’t have to bring sack lunches.

      7. November 17 Stem Space Night 5:30-7:30. PTO will hopefully provide space themed snack. Potential ideas: moon cheese, starburst, milky way, cosmic brownies, moon pies, sun chips.

    3. Website for pto - Becky

      1. Is a work in progress and we will let everyone know when it is ready!

    4. Teacher requests

      1. Coker- $200 for students with sensory needs -motion introduced by Katie and passed unanimously. Have already been ordered and will be delivered next week.

    5. STEM- Vanhevel

    6. Friday Brick Buck store - Michelle store will be 2x a month and volunteers are needed to run it.

      1. Need to create a signup genius

      2. Every Friday 9:15-9:45

      3. Can we use the books behind the stage? - Katherine

  6. Announcements and Questions

    1. Jack asked about where donations can be dropped off to for trunk or treat. Candy and costume monsters are in the office and parent room and are looking to be filled with donations!
